As the summer continues into August, we found ourselves in two of our favorite markets over the past two weeks: Detroit (July 25-26) and Washington, D.C. (August 1-2). And neither disappointed, as the Black Star community showed out.

Let's start with Detroit—an important market for Black Star. It's where we launched our community programming platform, so it was great being back in town for our Community Pickup at Social Status Detroit and First Touch Youth Clinic at Keyworth Stadium as we continue shining a light on the next generation of players.

A big thank you to our local community partners Detroit City FC, Urban Football League, and streetwear retailer Social Status, as well as our national partners adidas, Allstate, and King's Hawaiian.

A week later, we jumped to Washington, D.C.—another great market historically for Black Star thanks to its large Black community and the District's love for soccer. On Friday, we hosted over 30 players for Community Pickup at Edgewood Recreation Center. The next morning we returned to the facility for our First Touch Youth Clinic had over 120 players join the fun.

We couldn't host these events across the country without the help of our partners and we have some great local ones in D.C. Thank you to the D.C. United Foundation, D.C. Parks & Recreation, DC SCORES, and D.C. Cup, as well as our national partners adidas, Allstate, and King's Hawaiian.
