At Paul Quinn College, soccer is more than a sport—it’s a family. The players come together from around the world, united by their love for the game and the close-knit environment of their HBCU. “Playing soccer here at Paul Quinn is like a big old family,” one student shared. “They welcomed me as a family member, not just a regular student.”

"Paul Quinn's soccer program started as an idea by one of our students. The student came to me and said 'I think we should have a soccer program.' This is a place where students can see their ideas and vision grow into something more."

The original vision of using soccer to bring pride to the college is today becoming a reality, with growing partnerships and ambitious plans to tap into the global soccer talent pipeline.

The program’s impact extends far beyond the field. With supportive advisors and resources, players find mentorship and opportunity. This family-first culture has created a sense of belonging so strong that many students can’t imagine being anywhere else. Said one player: “I’ve never thought about transferring. This is a very good environment.”

Paul Quinn’s journey highlights the unique role HBCUs play in empowering students to dream, lead, and build legacies that extend far beyond the field.
